BODEGA HIRIART: THE TASTE OF ART

Bodega Hiriart, situated in the D.O. of Cigales, the D.O. with the biggest percentage of old vineyards, takes great care of its vineyards to obtain the best quality of grape. The construction of the winery dates back to 1750 when they manually excavated the vaults which still remain today. Hiriart profits from excellent environment conditions (soil, altitude and climate) to make its wines Hiriart Roble and Hiriart Lágrima.

Tinta del País (tempranillo), Garnacha, Verdejo

The ‘prime material’ is the free run juice of the 1st quality grapes. Cold pre-fermentation maceration is used for the extraction of aromas and polyphenols.

The mix of varieties support a great aromatic sensation and the sole use of free-run juice is key to the high quality of this wine.


Appearance: Attractive and intense raspberry pink.

Nose: Very fruity and clean with notes of strawberry and cherry with an underlying base of aromatic herbals.

Palate: Pleasantly soft, meaty and wide. Red fruits with a lively acidity that is refreshing and prolonging the after taste.

Hiriart Roble


Tinta del País (tempranillo)

Cold pre-fermentation maceration is used, for the ideal extraction of aromas and to stabilize the polyphenols.

The limited barrel ageing for this wine is only to support the fruit character of the variety. 4 months in used barrels of 225 LTR. of French Oak, American Oak and Central European Oak. Al least 2 months of bottle ageing is needed to let the wine ‘merry’; to become round in aromas and mouth feel.


Appearance: Deep cherry red with a purple shade and cardinal hints.

Nose: Complex with aromas of red forest fruit twinned with cinnamon, bell pepper and mild toasted Wood.

Palate: Mouth filling, tasteful, meaty with a lot of fruit. A tempting bitterness and compensated acidity. A balanced wine, sensually passing the receptors of the mouth and a long aftertaste.
