Originally form Cataluña, Calçots are green onions with a delicate flavour. They are grilled over a barbecue and served with Romesco sauce, often made from a closely guarded family recipe.
They are usually accompanied by a red wine porrón, a Spanish wine bottle used to pour wine into the mouth from a great height, and grilled meats. Calçotadas are widely celebrated by friends and families all over Cataluña while these giant spring onions are in season.
We will be offering a special tapa Calçots with salsa romesco every Wednesday from 15th of February to 15th of March. Subject to availability
To best experience this truly Spanish tradition, combine it with a red wine porrón, followed by one of our grilled Ibérico porks: secreto, pluma or abanico.
